Reader, since my last newsletter, I’ve been sharing a lot of little pieces of what’s been going on with me over on social media.
And I realized I wanted to bring some of that conversation over here, too.
Because honestly, I think this season of my health journey has been less about making some big change and more about paying attention to the small ones.
The little things that, when you put them together, can change the way you feel in your body.
Lately, I've been asking myself:
What happens when I stop trying so hard to make my body change and start giving it more of what it needs to thrive?
And I'm learning some things.
I stopped thinking I have to be in a calorie deficit every day.
This one has been a big mindset shift for me.
I’ve been intentionally taking days where I eat at maintenance instead of constantly trying to create a deficit.
And recently, I had one of those weekends that included ice cream and lasagna.
Yes. Both. 😂
I expected the scale to reflect it—and it did.
My weight went up.
But when I looked at my body composition, something really interesting had happened:
My lean body mass increased while my body fat decreased.
That was a good reminder that the scale doesn't tell the whole story.
I'm not trying to simply make myself smaller.
I want to build and maintain muscle. I want to be strong. I want good metabolic health. I want my body to be resilient and able to adapt to real life.
And sometimes that means stepping away from the deficit.
As you can see... there is much more happening behind just my overall weight.
I'm continuing to prioritize strength.
I'm still lifting.
I'm still walking.
I'm still getting my Zone 2 work in.
But my mindset around exercise has shifted, too.
I'm not exercising to “earn” food or burn off yesterday's choices.
I'm exercising because muscle is one of the most valuable things I can build as I move through midlife.
That feels very different.
And honestly, it feels a lot more sustainable.
Small, consistent habits lead to small but consistent change in body composition.
I'm paying attention to how my body responds.
This is probably my favorite part of what I've been doing lately.
Rather than obsessing over one number, I'm looking at the bigger picture.
How do I feel?
How is my energy?
What are my hunger signals telling me?
How am I recovering?
What is happening with my body composition?
What happens when I eat more?
What happens when I rest?
What happens when I lift?
What happens when I rest and let my nervous system recover?
I'm becoming much more interested in the conversation my body is having with me than in forcing it to behave a certain way.
And that brings me to something new I've added to the conversation...
A little peek at what I'm currently experimenting with...
I've also started using triGLP by ORYGN, an all-natural supplement designed to support three GLP pathways; GLP-1, GLP-2, and GIP.
I've been pretty intentional about sharing this journey because I don't want to simply tell you, “Here's a product. Here's what it does. Go buy it.”
That's not really how I operate.
I want to use something myself.
I want to understand it.
I want to pay attention to how it fits into my lifestyle.
And most importantly, I want to keep the bigger picture intact.
Because this isn't replacing the things I've already been doing.
I'm still eating real food.
I'm still prioritizing protein and fiber.
I'm still strength training.
I'm still walking.
I'm still working on sleep, stress, recovery, and all of those foundational pieces of metabolic health.
The drops are simply another tool I'm experimenting with alongside those things.
And that's the approach I want to continue taking with you—looking at the whole picture rather than searching for one magic answer.
✨ This month's newsletter sponsor: triGLP by ORYGN
If you've been watching my social media posts and wondering what these little drops I've been talking about actually are, this is your chance to take a closer look.
triGLP is designed to support the body's GLP-related pathways, and I've been incorporating it into my own routine as part of my current metabolic health experiment.
I'm sharing my experience because I know many of you are curious about natural GLP support, and I want you to have a place to learn more without feeling like you're being sold to every time you open one of my emails.
I'd much rather have a conversation with you than have you trying to figure everything out from a social media post.
These two bioactive peptides from organic, Atlantic Norwegian salmon have completely changed the landscape of my body composition.
Something new is happening in my coaching world…
To say I love where I work would be an understatement. I'm spending days off in the studio getting my own therapies! I can honestly say they have recharged my health and wellness journey in ways I never imagined. Which leads me to some other exciting news to share.
I recently started a new role as a wellness specialist at Recharge Health & Wellness in Hattiesburg, and I'm really excited about what this is opening up.
Recharge is a wellness space where people can come to work on more than just one piece of their health. They get to use various modalities to support their health and wellness goals. And now, lifestyle coaching is becoming part of that picture, too.
Beginning in September, I'll officially be partnering with Recharge to bring metabolic lifestyle coaching into the wellness experience.
For my local friends, this means the opportunity to work with me in person and pair coaching with some of the other wellness services available at Recharge.
But here's the part I really want you to know:
You don't have to live in Hattiesburg to work with me.
My coaching isn't becoming local-only.
I will continue working with virtual clients just as I always have.
So whether you're down the road or several states away, there's still a place for you here.
And I'm kicking off this next chapter with something really simple…
🍭 The 7-Day No Sugar Challenge
Starting September 1st, I'm hosting a 7-Day No Sugar Challenge inside my new coaching app.
It's just $7, and I intentionally kept the price low because I don't want this to feel like a huge commitment, but there is more value when you' make a small investment.
I want you to come experience it.
You'll get a peek inside the coaching app I'm going to be using with my clients, have some accountability and encouragement throughout the week, and spend seven days becoming more intentional about the added sugar in your diet.
And maybe, just maybe, you'll discover that you like having a coach in your pocket. 😉
